What happened to Big Nose Kates? Used to be such a good establishment but over the years went down a rocky slope with hit or miss service and food.

After many years of wanting to try BNK and believeing in the things I heard back then. I wanted to give it a shot. I went in on an afternoon and had to sit at a table cause the bar was full. I thought it would be a good sign. The poor bartender/waitress was overwhelmed with a full bar and tables to deal with. She is the reason for the lone star. The food I got was tasteless. The corn bread, while hot, was good until i found a dead fruit fly on the underside.

What made it even worse was the fact I had to wave off house flies in January. This place had a good rep ... but do yourself a favor.. go elsewhere.

Like: Only the girl busting her ass at work...

Dislike: everything else

terrible service on wing night, or possibly every night!now this is coming from someone who works in the restaurant business and what i usually expect from most other restaurants.
i went around 6:30 with a group of my friends and we got seated an hour and a half later. there was one waitress who was also the hostess. i asked for bleu cheese about 5 times before i actually got it. refills on drinks were impossible also. but the server was very nice and tried her hardest to accommodate us along with 15 other tables.
so next time me and my friends went we went much earlier around 4. we had a different server who was the most unpleasant person i have ever met in my life. she was rude and when we would ask for refills - which we should have to do since we were the only table there - she gave us a pitcher of water when we wanted refills on our soda. even though we had 6-8 people but not everyone ate she added gratuity. but like most rude servers she was nice as she put the check on the table. if she didnt add gratuity i dont think we would of tip her and new yorkers and good tippers. and as soon as we left the server who does the night shift (who we had the time before) and we wished we would of waited that hour longer for a better server.

big nose kates, if you want to improve your restaurant put more servers on a shift.

Like: atmosphere, food

Dislike: service!!!

Not what it used to be a few years ago. Used to be mine and my friends favorite hang out spot on Thursdays, but it turned into a Teen Fest, you have kids running around various days of the week with high school shirt logos.
I must say the food is still pretty good and someday I will come back, hopefully they cleaned up their act.
