pretty pricey, some of the food isreally good and some is average to below average, never had a problem with staff. very clean

I've been a long time regular at the comfort diner. Staff was hired-staff was fired like in any other place. It's very sad to see that frustrated staff/other establishments possibly taking it all out in the review section by giving bad feedback...

went there with family we ordered waitress comes back telll two of us their out of what we ordered pretty bad since place was empty and it was a eraly dinner time

First, if they actually post for themselves - they didn't invent the wheel...every restaurant that believe in its business will do the same, so WAKE UP....
Second, are you 'somewhat' on the bitter side of life? does it hurt you to see a thriving business? is it possible that you are a restaurant owner that his business not doing as well or a former employee?

Take a look at these 5 star reviews and you can clearly see that they are being posted by the restaurant and are not objective reviews at all. Nonsense like "i cant wait to go back" "wow"
"the best". Come on, They should look at objective comments and try to fix whats bad and improve on whats good. Thats what makes a good diner and business. Posting a bunch of 5 star reviews that are complete nonsense shows a lack of oncern for their customers and service. For this I would give them 0 stars if this review system would let me.

Average food at best.
Overpriced for the neighborhood. Service is not conistant
There are much better diners within a 5 minute drive.

WOW!!! First time there, I had the stuffed french toast with bananas with REAL maple syrup, not that sugary pancake syrup you usually get at other places. Can't wait to go there again!!!

Not that great at all. when you come in you see all the hype from the newspapers of the comfort diner, but I am not sure if they were paid for. It really wasn't that good, the food was just okay, there are much better diners on staten island and pretty much close by.
What I like is the atmosphere is somewhat different, new trendy feel that I liked from the pictures I seen here, but not enough to be really worth the experience to go back.

Sure...why not blame one of the best restaurants on the Island for a random stomach virus...there's so many people sick with this virus now...I was there this past week and I saw an 'A' from NYC Department of Health posted on their door...keep the good job TCD : )

I have been here twice. The first time because I heard about their oven baked fish and chips which was delish! I went again over the weekend and had the special of Roasted Salmon. By the time I got home I was running for the bathroom and was then ill the rest of the night. I would never go back again.

Tried this place twice. While the food is very good, it’s not spectacular. The prices are way too high for a diner on Arthur Kill road. They need to realize that they are no longer in Midtown Manhattan. $7.90 for banana pancakes for breakfast, with only 2 average size pancakes in the order? A lot of empty tables in this place on a Friday night. They need to do some fine tuning if they want to stay.

I don`t usually go to diners, but this one is definatly NOT ur typical diner. It`s a fine combination between restaurant & diner. Very family oriented, while u dont have to compromise the food quality.
